A hill that I will always die on is that a character doesn’t have to be a good person or morally right to be a “good” character. By this I mean people can enjoy the writing and arcs of characters that are awful without excusing their actions or considering them morally justified.
The lack of discourse surrounding these type of characters (either declaring they are all good or all evil and therefore you have to stan or hate them) is in my opinion ruining a lot of fandom spaces.
CHARACTERS DON’T HAVE TO BE GOOD PEOPLE; they just have to be well written and well executed.

YES!! It’s always good to have a character that doesn’t follow the stereotypes, or cliché types. Sometimes it’s fun to have a character that’s a little more rebellious than others, or their end in sight is different than others. But I love that you bring up that they have to be written well, because the way you develop a character really matters for the outcome of the story!!

@goldensunrays- yessss I personally love a morally grey character as the main character! That way they can fall into both categories

So I just realized that Ashes to Ashes: TWD is currently almost 200,000 words.
This is crazy to me because I didn’t realize I’ve actually written a full-length novel for just one part of this book. Thank you everyone who continues the story even though it’s super long! Idk how people feel about long stories but I personally love them.
