The final slivers of daylight melted away, surrendering its domain to the darkness that licked at the forest floor.
The eerie shadows of the trees reached out like boney hands, waiting for any child to fall into its iron grasp.
The cool air settled and the tranquility of the night made its presence known to the animals, lulling them to close their tired eyes. It wasn't long before the soft pinpricks of light started pulsed, breaking the serene darkness that had washed over the land.
An astounded gasp left the little child's lips as one word slipped from their mouth.
