dear anna goodman,
i would like you to know that i am doing well. i am sending this letter solely because of my mother and her stubborn tendency to keep in touch with those who have long past. do you remember the box of letters to my father i showed you of hers? i am afraid of becoming the woman who birthed me without my consent, blonde hair and all. i guiltily admit that i do see the appeal of sending letters to friends who will never receive them. you are one of those friends. i wish you a good life, anna goodman, and for all your roses to bloom.
love always,
eleanor
