It’s been lifetimes, and yet…I’ll never forget anyone I formed a friendship with on this app. You’ve had a profound impact on me and you’re the reason I can say that I finished a whole novel (Misery Loves Company, of course).

Since then I’ve gone through the pandemic, gotten COVID twice, lost my dream job, cut ties with IRL friends who I thought would always be in my life. Got another job (I hate it), gone through painful creative droughts (because life does its best to squeeze every ounce of creativity out of you) and then found it again thanks to inspiration from various places.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, I miss the Wattpad era of my life and I miss talking to all of you. As far as writing goes, I’ve written a few fanfics for AO3, I’m SLOWLY writing a dark academia novel and a webtoon, but it’s really hard to keep going.

I don’t think I’ll ever have the time to be on Wattpad the way I was before, but you’ll see me around more often and I even plan to post a new story.

I think I’ve come to terms with the the fact that you guys motivate me beyond compare, and I can’t finish another novel without you.

Much love, always— even though many of our “Wattpad Eras” have ended and it’s a completely different app <3

Miss you and ily!! It’s been a super rough few years and I’m happy to hear from you, even if just an update letting us know you’re still around. I hope things look up for you! I still think about Misery all the time.

I’m so annoyed with myself. I can never just focus on one project. I’m:

-finishing the next chapter of Fowler
-writing the script for a webtoon
-and in one afternoon, I wrote the first part of Josh’s (from Misery Loves Company) spin-off

(And Josh’s spin-off came out of nowhere. It came pouring out of me, and I feel taken advantage of LOL).

@sophxant I am both excited and annoyed LOL.

@ELMckenzie Do it! It’s challenging, but fun since dialogue has always been my fav part of writing.

Season 4 of Stranger Things really said, “They’re not kids anymore” and proceeded to traumatize me…

@HeartlessnEmotional It’s pretty much a sci-fi show, but they added more horror elements this season. The villain is really gruesome, and the way it kills people is gruesome too T . T

Have you ever read one of your old stories, and went wow…there’s no way I wrote this? XD

Most of the time, our old stuff is cringey, but there’s always that one unfinished story that’s surprisingly good. That you may have become a different person to write, and wished you could be that person again.

HeartlessnEmotional

@theinkslingerr Definitely but it makes me smile.... At my growth and sometimes I surprise myself at some things I've written and like, that's pretty good could be tuned but could expand into a pretty good book. If only, I was consistent with writing.

@sophxant I would love to read some of your stuff <3 But yeah, same. Sometimes I wish I could unscrew the top of my head and pour my thoughts on paper.

Oooh yeaaah, that’s happened the me . Most of the time I just feel like my writing can’t do justice to my idea, however. But I also feel like I don’t have the time to invest to make up that difference. Sigh

Off to watch Bridgerton. Is it as good as the first season? (No spoilers, please!)

sophxant

@theinkslingerr yeah, no, I get that lol. Fair enough. But I didn’t expect that going in, so I kinda wasn’t braced for it. It annoyed me though, how Simon and Daphne got on smashingly as friends, and as soon as it got ‘romantic’ the red flags came marching. Just saying, there was potential for it to not go down the toxic route. But then I’m pretty sure that the base material (as in the original books) didn’t have that going for them, so...

I agree about Anthony, I don’t find anything too redeeming or dashing about him. At least Simon was gorgeous lol. And the chemistry thing... yeah, can’t argue. I watch it over two days, and I just though it was pretty meh. It would have been better if Kate had been, like, the one that got away or something like that, and actually taught Anthony a lesson about being decent. Idk.

@sophxant Okay, so when I watch a Shonda Rhimes show, I go in with the knowledge that the main couple (honestly, most of the couples) in the show will be unhealthy lol. Seriously, I’ve watched most of Shonda’s repertoire, and I don’t think I’ve seen one well-adjusted couple yet XD. So, since I know I’ll never get healthy couples out of Shonda, I don’t even include it as a metric when judging her shows. Which is why I thoroughly enjoyed the first season of Bridgerton. The plot was intriguing, and Simon and Daphne had insane chemistry.

With that said, I’m disappointed in season two so far. I don’t personally find Anthony to be a compelling character, and I think it’s exasperating he watched Daphne navigate the marriage mart last season, saw what she faced as a woman of marrying age, and…..learned nothing. He’s still the same guy he was in Season 1, episode 1– no character development. We started at square one.

On top of that, the plot isn’t particularly interesting this season, especially since we know who Lady Whistledown is, and I don’t think the actors they cast for Anthony and Kate have any chemistry. :-/ I’m halfway through the season, and I’ve been mostly bored. No swooning or butterflies on my part, and that’s the whole reason I watch period pieces. If I wanted something practical, I’d go watch something else.

I know this is a long-winded analysis, but you know me XD

Meh... it’s good in different ways. Tbh, I didn’t live the first season (I thought the couple was a bit... unhealthy), but this season is definitely different. Enjoy

People who are able to write entire books in a year (or less) or update consistently while working full-time are superheroes to me. Otherworldly beings who possess something I will never have no matter how hard I try.

Working full-time as a writer kills all my creativity, and sometimes desire to write. How do y’all do it? Any tips would be much appreciated.

@HeartlessnEmotional Same! Like, where can I get some of that discipline? Amazon? Lol.
