To write or not to write, that seems to be the BIG question.
It's been that question, repeatedly, the last 10 years at least.
I have plenty of stories, my own, and some. But it's all in my head. But before I get into that, a bit about me.
I am a dreamer, a thinker, a wannabe philosopher. What I really am is someone devoid of all that - I am very simply an entrepreneur chasing his dreams of wealth and power.
I have no religion and no allegiance to anyone or anything. I do not understand god, so I won't go there either.
But I read. a lot. I read anything and everything. I am reading about 5 books now. One in every corner of the house where I spend at least an hour. There's one in my car too.
I am inspired to write but not motivated.
The authors who used to make me stay awake are Norman Mailer, James Joyce and Philip Roth. Then one day I read Salman Rushdie who set me on the path to discovering Asian writing.
For the last 4 years, I've been journeying with Naipaul, Bhagat, Murakami, Erica Jong, Amy Tan, Aravind Adiga, Mohammed Hanif, Yukio Mishima, Lisa See, Anchee Min, Vikram Seth, Amitav Ghosh, Anita Desai, Hala Jaber, Arundathi Roy, Tash Aw, Kiran Desai, Khaled Hosseini, Kawabata, Yukio Mishima.
And then one day, I chanced upon Chimamanda Ngozi Adichi. She motivated me to write.
Now its my turn to tell stories.
