〝  i'm not sure what you're talking about~! ＂ the tipsy pirate replied back with a chuckle while a digit traces over the rim of his filled glass.  despite his joyful tone,  magenta hues continued to stare deeply at the ravenette〝  are you saying i'm not allowed to oh so /lovingly/ stare at you anymore? ＂ 

@fairtrades , ⠀ “you’re aware of what that stare implies. must you act all coy now? i see through you.”

〝  oh yeah? ＂ his tone was one of light teasing as a brow was raised in amusement.  ulrich's hand rest against the nape of xiaoyue's neck before giving the side of his head a chaste kiss〝  bet you can't even walk straight right now ＂ he challenged,  not really expecting for the other to do anything too brash in his inebriated state

  ⠀།  ︲   ᆢ⠀ @fairtrades ，  "  i am sober.  " ⠀it was straightforward and quick,  but of course it was an apparent lie that ulrich could discern.  slumped comfortably,  as if molding into the pirate's,  whilst the strands of his once tied hair now cascaded naturally.

〝  but don't you want to at least sober up first? ＂ he questioned while carding his fingers through xiăoyuè's hair — carefully undoing his usual tied up hair to let the raven tresses fall.  the pirate was eternally thankful that they kept their drinking within the privacy of his room,  or else he wouldn't know how else they'd have gotten back to the ship

〝  stealing my breath away like that so suddenly.  who do you think you are? ＂ the pirate's tone was light and playful as a hand of his slightly pinched at xiăoyuè's cheek.  the thumb that remained pressed against his lip was given a small kiss as he took note of how the subtle glint in the ravenette's eyes〝  did you know your eyes are the most expressive aspect about you?  even if your reactions are faint ＂

  ⠀།  ︲   ᆢ⠀ @fairtrades ，  settling a hand behind his neck,  the other supports a gentled caress from a thumb,  the plump bottom lip dimpled. ⠀"  perhaps i have.  " ⠀whispered xiǎoyuè,  who seemed please right after the kiss.  if even such a thing were possible,  it did feel as though for the first time  ..  those misted hues rekindled a subtle glint by sheer bliss alone.

the progressively rough press of xiăoyuè's lips against his was enough to make his eased self breathless,  small yet quiet gasps for air could be heard from the pirate with every brief separation.  the ravenette's warmth was all consuming,  effectively making ulrich become lost in the exchange as his mind felt as if it was slowing down.  but maybe that was just due to the small amount of air he was getting,  which he should probably fix before he faints- 〝  hah,  did you manage to put some sort of spell on me? ＂ he jokingly asked in a slight daze after pulling away,  their noses brushing against each other and a chuckle emitting from him

∗     too lazy to make a fancy thread rn but xiǎoyuè is the grandson of the kid mentioned in the book titled "moonlit bamboo forest" and rn,  he's currently in search of the white horse adeptus in nod krai ^^

〝  mhm,  i'm all good!  managed to sober up enough to be confident with my walking ＂ he assured as they left out the door of the establishment,  but not before ulrich waved goodbye to the bartender demyan〝  plus,  the fresh air will do me good and help clear my mind too.  what about you,  can you walk okay? ＂

despite xiăoyuè's gaze which stared at him,  the captain's own eyes remained avoidant as he laughed in an attempt to not seem too nervous〝  of course i will!  i'm not one to go back on my word ＂ ulrich's head nodded assuredly before his arm rest over the ravenette's shoulders〝  i'll bring you to where you're staying at just like i promised! ＂

〝  heh,  maybe one day you'd be able to see me wear the proper uniform,  if you're curious about how i'd look in it ＂ he said with a smile and nod of his head〝  and i'm more well-known than anything thanks to my line of work.  but it's not for the reason of who my parents are.  i'm proud i've managed to come this far and make a name for myself with my own efforts ＂

〝  no,  it's fine!  and compared to the others,  i honestly don't consider myself to be as 'knightly' as them.  plus,  what i do requires me to me to be out at sea more often than not.  so wearing the designated uniform they do would only cause problems ＂ he explained with with a chuckle of amusement at xiăoyuè's disbelief〝  it also makes my job easier in terms of travelling and conversing with people too.  the less associated i seem,  the better negotiations will go ＂
