I recently read “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” by Stephen Chbosky and I love how the book leaves room to interpret how the characters are feeling during an action. It’s really straightforward—the action is just stated and we don’t get a deep paragraph about how sad or happy the character’s feeling, and I LOVE that. The farthest it gets to explaining Charlie’s emotion is “I cried a lot”. It really makes you resonate with the character, and think about the emotion they’re experiencing and how so. I’ll be executing that from now on. You’ll be seeing this a lot in my work. :)

Working on something. Would name it “The Ballad of (main character)”, but isn’t the whole point of a ballad to talk about the character? I’m not sure if I should write it in third person or from m.c’s perspective. Title goes hard, though.
