Hi beautiful!
I've already written around sixteen different drafts of this message, but I think it's better if I'm just raw and honest.
I've read dozens of books, whether on Wattpad or published novels. I've always loved reading poetry too. I love trying to understand the meaning behind the words and feeling what the poet felt, because more often than not, I relate to them.
I'm a writer too—or, to be more precise, a poet. I've written many poems and even posted some on Wattpad. A while ago, I had this idea for a book. I wanted to write about a girl who hid everything behind her smile. It wasn't going to be entirely based on my life, but it was definitely inspired by it. I even had a title: The Life of a Sunshine Girl. I tried so many times to write it, but I never could. In the end, I stayed with poetry because that's where I felt I belonged.
Then I read your book...
It genuinely felt like you had taken the words straight from my mouth and put them onto the page. It was such a strange feeling—like someone had reached into my mind and written the story I'd always wanted to tell but never knew how to.
For the first time, I felt seen in a way I can't really explain. Your writing gave life to emotions I've carried around for so long but could only ever express through poems.
Thank you for writing this story. Thank you for making me feel understood. Your book reminded me why I fell in love with words in the first place, and maybe, just maybe, it'll give me the courage to try writing The Life of a Sunshine Girl again one day.
Thank you, truly.
