Hi Vadim Lebedev

I came across your piece Neural Networks and Zoomers and I did not expect it to stay with me the way it did. There is a calm honesty in your line, “We’re no longer trying to understand, we’re learning how to ask,” that kept echoing long after I finished reading. It feels less like a statement and more like a quiet realization most people have not yet found words for.

What I appreciated most was the way you did not rush to judge the shift you were describing. You let it unfold. The tone felt observant rather than loud, and that is rare. It made me slow down and reflect on my own habits in a way that did not feel forced.

At the same time, I had a small thought I could not ignore. The piece feels strong, but it also feels like it is moving quietly when it could reach much further. The ideas are there, the clarity is there, but it seems like it has not yet been placed in front of the kind of readers who would really sit with it and carry it forward.

Would you be open to a short conversation sometime?

Also, I am curious, have you published any of your work on Amazon or Goodreads?

          Warm regards,
          Emelia

“but it also feels like it is moving quietly when it could reach much further.”

What can I say—your words are spot on. It wasn’t my intention to write a sensationalist article. And I certainly didn’t want to offend Generation Z, as they have every right to live as they choose.

I’m a scientist working with young students, and I’m actively involved in artificial intelligence—let’s say, neural networks. That’s why I wrote this short essay: I’m able to look at the situation from two perspectives. And what I’ve observed disturbed me enough to write the article in English—just to make sure more people could read it and reflect on it.

The original version of this text was full of numbers and predictions and read more like a scientific paper, which I didn’t think was very helpful. So I wrote a shorter, more accessible version and published it on Wattpad. Of course, I’d be happy to discuss it further if you’d like.

As for your last question: my native language is Russian. I also write in German and English. My science fiction and fantasy books are written in Russian as well, so if you don’t speak the language, I’m afraid I can’t really recommend them.

            Best Regards,
            Vadim
