@WLVNBORN    i only give credit where it is due,  brandar,   and right now isn’t one of those times.  but you and i have both learned not to turn our backs on those who smile while they measure the distance to your throat.   our home has never needed him to endure,  and nor will she now.   but if he wants to play ally——let him.  suspicion wins few wars,   still i’d sleep sounder when he and his fleet’s ships turn home.

@thysanguine    you give him too much credit.   there is only one myth that terrifies children and it is not the  foreign ruler from the west.  irr-mawat  does that all on her own.  and the day this council stops listening to the half-man is the day drakosia will have longer summers and shorter winters.   we’ve survived this war long before he came.

@WLVNBORN      not many do.   the townsfolk are threatened,   uttering stories to their children about the butcher in the west..  they speak of him as if he’s a myth to keep children from misbehaving,   yet here he is.   i’m skeptical,  surely,  as is everyone.   but lord harren never makes a grave decision——much like this one,   without reason.
