                jian huanrans name is intended to reflect their given purpose:  jian meaning to build,  huanran meaning completely renewed or radiant
            
                he has the ability to shapeshift.  huanran often uses it as a disguise to remain untraceable to his crimes,  but outside of them he constantly maintains the form of a heavenly being due to arrogance,  even despite the danger that stems from being so valuable
            
                heavenly beings are more powerful in female forms,  but huanran understands that humans operate on a patriarchy.  he takes on the form of a man in the human realm,  but his appearance is feminine androgynous because aside from naming himself a  '  man  '  ,  he has no attachment to the way humans experience gender
            
                huanran is a very powerful sorcerer and has strong intellect.  she spent her childhood studying demonic magic and learning their ancient languages and has access to spells otherwise forgotten by humans and demons alike
            
                they tend to gravitate towards beings with extreme power and influence to orchestrate their plans of extinction from a high position.  in my oc universe,  they become the right hand of the emperor and use their manipulation to unbalance the order of the realm.  it is also a very helpful way to avoid being killed and eaten
            
                huanran is essentially physically unable to die;  until she has achieved her goal of eradication of the human race,  her soul is so resentful that it refuses to pass on after death and forms a new body each time.  though she was originally born in the tang dynasty,  she is actually canonically alive during the modern era
            
                if he were ever able to experience love,  the feeling would likely drive him crazy.  its such an unfamiliar sensation to him and he views it as the greatest weakness of humanity.  he has only ever,  before becoming closer to another,  felt rage and bloodlust and he is very confused by the feeling of anything else

 ‎   huanran possesses an implausible capability of pretence.  she maintains a quantity of facades and charades,  each complex and suited purely for ambition.  although a being swarmed with unending wrath and castigation,  she enacts,  at most times,  the persona of unpretentious abjection.  she is to all but herself acquiescent and most lamentable,  a being best suited for servitude or companionship.
            
                beneath his deception,  huanran is a conceited and malevolent beast with a hunger for power and a hatred for man.  derangement plagues him,  manifested from rage and the toxic atmosphere of the demon realm he spent his childhood in.  the burden of expectation lies heavy on his shoulders;  he was born with a singular intention and never strayed,  even as he infiltrated the human realm.  he spared no time for pleasure or joy—  and has no understanding of them.
            
                although they are alarmingly proficient in replicating the expression of human emotions,  beyond shallow imitation,  they have no comprehension of the truly elaborate nature of them.  they reject the notion of  *  feeling  *  .  when encumbered by their own emotions,  huanran becomes unstable and volatile,  considering themself a traitor to their cause and their people—  in reality,  they cannot interpret what they feel because of a lifetime of ignorance,  and such a profound loss of control over their own self is an unsettling sensation.

    heavenly  beings—  the descendants of ancient celestials.  gifted with inconceivable forms of pure spiritual energy,  a heavenly being possesses talents of both healing and empowerment.  when mankind was wrought with plagues and the land shrouded in death,  they began to hunt them,  and consumed their flesh for its restorative qualities.  it was not only a cure for the ailments which beset humanity,  but a strengthener capable of enhancing their own traits and absorbing the powers of these beings.  as was the natural order of humans,  a demand for the bodies of heavenly beings arose,  and the commercialisation of their flesh began.
            
                a population so finite could not hope to meet the demand of man;  numbers began to dwindle as heavenly beings were hunted into virtual extinction.  those who remained abandoned the realm,  cowering in isolation,  mourning their fallen brethren.  but as the years passed,  beings once known for tolerance and compassion grew indignant.  huanran,  saviour of the people,  was born from retribution,  a purpose over a person.  revenge was the sole objective of his existence:  do unto them as they have done to us.
            
                huanran was abandoned in the realm of demons as a child,  raised an object of worship—  a messiah who signified extermination and repopulation of all species wronged by mankind.  they studied the demonic arts extensively,  mastering its magic and many of its languages,  while preaching the end of the human race.  upon gaining  (  and maintaining  )  an expansive army of devotees,  at sixteen,  they emerged into the human realm,  their scheme commencing.
