To be honest the comment I read about her story- while may have been an offer of assistance- seemed to be worded quite harshly. As writers we all know that word choice is just as important as creativity. Maybe next time just an "I would be willing to help edit if you're looking for assistance" would go over better than blasting their mistakes right out of the gate. Letting someone else read my work has always felt like leaving my diary open to the juiciest page for anyone to walk by and criticize my life-it's personal even if public- they should be respected for having the guts to put themselves out there and treated as such. I have yet to find a professional work that I have paid for in a bookstore that is mistake free and those go through teams of editors before being mass produced. That being said...the mistake on your page is in the spelling of the popular bookseller listed. Barnes and Noble is spelled with an "e" in "Barnes". There may be more but that was as far as I read.

I would very much like to know what the mistake on my website is so I can correct it. It isn't obvious to me so I need your help to find it.

Regarding the comment I made on The Office Curve: I was responding to the author's snappy response to another post. I had said that the story was too rough to read since there were so many missing and misused words. She responded that she knew it needed editing and that she would edit it after she finished posting the rest of it. My original comment was an attempt to be helpful and what she seemed to take most offense at was my offer to edit the story for her. I have posted similar comments and the author took my offer and eventually published their work. I had no idea that offering my services as an editor would evoke such a response. It has never happened before.

I'm sorry that I may have somehow offended you also. I didn't intend to offend anyone.

That seems strange to me since I'm not accustomed to posting my work until after editing it carefully several times. It may still be awful in the opinion of readers but at least it is readable.

I could not reply to your comment on her page since she has blocked my posts there.

Please tell me what you saw on my website that needs fixing so I can fix it.
