Carl stared blankly at Lori, and he heaved a deep sigh. “Mom, I’m /fine/. I can protect myself if I need to. Who even cares if I sneak off?” the boy rolled his eyes, seeming as if he were irritated—which he was, considering the fact he was getting lectured by his mother for something he had thought, and still thought, was completely okay. “I’m not /stubborn/. I’m just doing what I think is right,” he crossed his arms, raising a brow at her. What was she going to do, actually try to stop him? Yeah, right. Rick barely had time for either of them as it was due to the fact that he had taken up a leadership role, and Carl did things he certainly knew not one, but both of his parents would dislike. However, he himself wasn’t quite sure why he did these types of things. Is it due to what he had told his mother—that he thought he was doing the right thing anyways? “Mom, I /promise/ I’ll be okay if I run off or something. Can’t you at least have a little bit of faith in me? After all, neither you nor dad will be around forever.. shouldn’t I learn to do things? I’m learning things by evading everyone and doing what I wish when nobody knows what it is.” It seemed as if he was pleading with her to continue to sneak off, to wherever he went. He obviously wouldn’t tell her, though.
