            homer could only sigh , rubbing the bridge of his nose which pushed up his glasses a smidge .  soon a pair of brown eyes met the deity again , sure , the second-round college student had his own familial issues but not to this extent . “ what ?  i’m trying to look on the bright side with ALL of this .  ” which is something homer tried to do often , especially with the fact he still had to prove his point to hades in order to get into elysium .  “ from the two i’ve met aside from you..  sure  ,  they’ve got their ‘quirks’ but they’re still family .  ”

               the smile immediately drops , shoulders loosening as he exhales long and tired . `` ' not as awful as the myths ' he says . `` a quiet scoff left at hearing that . `` there's a reason I avoided the family gatherings , I'll have you know . `` and now this campus roamed with such family now . made him dread this place even more .

            it was the weirdest sight to witness in their short time of knowing each other , perhaps smile and laughter weren’t fitting for a lord of the dead .  or maybe just unusual lookin in homer’s case .  “ alright  ,  alright—  you can drop the act now .  ” he wavered his hand .  “ doubt he’s as awful as the myths portray him to be .  or what i can remember of them anyways..  ”

            “ could you for once at least pay me back ?  you’re also known for being a god of WEALTH correct ?  and yet you’ve been nothing but stingy since you’ve gotten here .  ” his frown only deepened , arms crossed as he leaned back against the couch .  “ us mortals have to eat too  ,  you know ?  ”

               `` i am the god of the underworld , you really think a stupid mortal concept like that is going to stop me ? don't make me laugh . `` and to rub it in , he continued to eat the said slice in front of homer . a little petty ? maybe .

            “ i was really looking forward to it too .  ” homer let the annoyance show clear as day across his face , a frown grazing his lips .  “ i EVEN wrote my name on the box so you wouldn’t steal it but i guess even writing THAT isn’t enough for the god of the underworld !  ”
