I do not believe you are incorrect. Water is indeed not wet, rather, it is purely a substance that makes you wet. For example, air dries you off. Would it then be correct to say that air is dry? While it is true that air can become dry at times in certain climates, not all air is dry. This causes this statement to be erroneous. Therefore, it is safe to conclude, that water, is not wet.
