Me rereading my past works: This is all cringe how did I put this down on paper without instantly decomposing into a pile of salt and tears

Finally updated Legend of Faes today (woohoo!). I challenged myself to doing Nanowrimo last month, which probably wasn't the best idea. I got up to 30k which was still 20k away from goal, but I like to think it's a pretty good start for someone who's never done Nanowrimo before.

I'm trying to get back to doing my weekly updates. I think I've stacked up enough chapters to not dawdle anymore in my posting :3

Any critique would be appreciated, especially since I'm also going through and editing what I've written so far.

Somebody asked me recently what my favourite line in a particular story was... And I couldn't really answer that there was a favourite line.

Favourite scenes, definitely. Scenes stick out. Characters stick out. The interplay of dialogue between characters.

So here is a different question for you: What is your favourite scene in your recent work?

@CharlesMoffat Ooh that's interesting. Sorry for not answering sooner, by the way, I've been pretty busy with finals and projects. But my favourite scene is probably the one in the last chapter- Colton's death.

First of all, I LOVED writing that scene. Making characters suffer is just ❤. Tessa's internal screaming, and the chaos of it? *evil cackling*.

Also, I think that scene was pretty important, for Tessa especially. All this time Tessa has kind of been living in a naive bubble of fantasy. She has magical powers, was living in a literal castle, and everything was chill and fun. It was like a freaking DREAM. And then... BAM! Her brother is borderline psychotic, Colton dies, and it feels like it's all her fault.

Long story short, making my characters suffer is fun :)
