from a young age something was off about callum, intially he had very late developmental milestones. having trouble communicating, academic performance issues and a challenging time understanding social queues around him. he was taken into a doctor and falsely diagnosed with autism. as schizophrenia isn't something a young child can be diagnosed with and the symptoms can overlap. he was placed in classes where he would receive special help. a vivid imagination followed him into his teen years where he would make art that he found beautiful but others found visually distressing. he'd begin to hear voices and he did whatever they told him to do, leading to callum disappearing for days on end and his parents sick with worry. around the age of 17 he was taken and given a proper diagnosis of schizophrenia and prescribed medication that callum refused to take, the doctors were trying to poison him. take away the voices the voices that made him special. they were his only real company, they understood him.
