@lafleurdeverite Sadly yes, yes they do. It can't be helped every franchise has it's posers. And god, I'd love to meet the Star Wars ones and shake their hands.

@lafleurdeverite Well the "friends" are Trekkie posers they think that just because they watch the show and name the characters they are trekkies. They've got it wrong. I will tie them down and make them watch it! Onward to the telly!

@trekkiegeek Ah okay. Yeah I'm the only one that really loves Trek in my family, I think my dad and brother are just kind of positive. Unfortunately I don't have any friends in real life that like it even a quarter as much as I do, which really kind of sucks. Oh well. I'm used to it for the most part. You need to tie them down and force them to watch it apparently, they need some conditioning!

@lafleurdeverite Actually my mom is more 'Wars than Trek and my dad is more Trek than 'Wars like me. (I take after my dad a lot) but I grew up with 'Wars until I saw 'The Menagerie Part 1 and 2' on some morning TV station. I thought it was amazing. I remember being struck at how good it is. And then I discovered my "friends" were Trekkies and I fell in love more. And here I am today. My dad and I are the real Trekkies in my house. Mom's like my brother Go TNG anti-TOS or she just makes fun of it. So yeah, big disappointment there.

@lafleurdeverite He's was yelling at me about lotr fan fics and I yelled back at him something about Roddenberry. Then he was who? I was so exhasperated. See everyone in the family but my brother is a Trekkie. He's loved TNG but hate hate hates TOS. He thinks it's all stupid. Doesn't surprise me though, he likes 'Wars...
