            *  oh god. they needed all of those things. and all those things sounded so /nice/. hot meals.. showers.. maybe even a bed to sleep on. but, ethan couldn't bring himself to accept her offer. he couldn't. he couldn't trust her. he was too scared. so scared...  *  we're fine.  *  he said, sounding melancholy and deflated. he shut his eyes, scared he'd start to cry if he opened them. she seemed nice. nice and kind. but what if it was just an act? how could he know if she was being genuine or not?  *
