@TruthTrinity Thanks for the recommendation! I've actually read the Lady Helen series :) I don't think THE BRIGHT AND THE LOST is similar to it, but I'll let you be the judge of that.

@EMCastellan Thank you for the recommendation. THE BRIGHT AND THE LOST sounds very much like a series called the Lady Helen series by Alison Goodman. You might be interested in checking that duology out in particular.
