Zac doesn’t recognize it because he’s too entangled with Talia. Cheating and lying have always been Fatima’s boundaries, this is consistent with the show, the first book, and the sequel.
If you know where your wife draws the line and still choose to cross it, that just doesn’t make sense, in fiction or real life. So why would you not expect them to walk away?
