I had promised you a poem. I sure as heck didn't think that if would be the last promise I made to you though. I sure as hell don't plan on breaking it so when you read these words think of the way you felt when we looked into each other's eyes, or the way we felt when we were apart.
"They say that a picture can speak a thousand words
But that doesn't explain the freeze frame in my mind when the only word that followed was 'wow'
They also say that we learn from our mistakes.
This, however doesn't explain the fact that even though you would always break my heart, I would always come back. And it makes me think that maybe our love wasn't, isn't, a mistake.
They say that you don't know love until you have lost.
It doesn't explain why, even though I never lost you, I knew that I always loved you.
They always said that we'd never make it.
And as much as I hate to agree. It's true. But the small universe that we made for ourselves back then is timeless and permanent and perfect."
-- This is just a poem inspired and dedicated to my best friend who is going through a tough time at the moment. Just a reminder that true love whether platonic or romantic is eternal and gracious and messy. The prologue goes with the poem by the way
