          Rose Atwater is the golden girl of North Denver High. Wealthy and popular, she and her twin brother Sean capture all eyes when they enter a room. Every boy wants to date her. Every girl wants to be her. But even with all of the friends and admirers, Rose still feels alone.
          
          Vance Hopper only lives for two things: pinball and music. They are his only escape from his traumatic home life as the son of an abusive alcoholic. Everyone in town fears Vance, which is perfectly fine with him. He doesn't need anyone, and he could care less about girls or finding love in his crappy life. 
          
          But when he reunites with his childhood crush outside of the local Grab-N-Go, Vance begins to wonder if he has a shot at love after all.
