Important,kinda (Zombie MlM)
I’m writing a story using two characters I made, I’m currently three chapters, 6 thousand words in and I plan on continuing it. I want it to be a slow burn but we’ll see. This is a side thing I’m doing, I don’t know how long I’ll be working on it, just kinda rolling with it tbh. It’s my senior year so there is no telling if I take time to post and whatnot
Anyone wanna read it?
Anyway here’s a teaser (it’s literally like the first bit of chapter one ngl, I don’t have a summary yet)
The abandoned house was silent, save for the occasional creak of its weathered wooden floorboards. Dan Evens sat hunched over a small, flickering diesel burner, its weak flame barely cutting through the biting cold that seeped into the room. He could see his breath clouding in the frigid air, each exhale a ghostly reminder of the harsh environment outside.
He glanced around the room, its emptiness a stark contrast to the warmth he desperately sought. The walls, once painted a vibrant color, were now faded and peeling, the remnants of a life long gone. He took a deep breath, wincing at the cold air that seemed to cut through him. His research bag, now somewhat tattered from the escape, lay at his feet along with a steel baseball bat, the only weapons he had against the infected and the unrelenting cold.
He knew he couldn’t stay here forever. The small comfort of the diesel burner was a temporary reprieve, not a solution. He had to move, find Louie Hanson, and hope that the information about Louie’s base was accurate.
With a shiver, Dan stood up, grabbed his worn-out coat, and carefully checked his respirator to ensure it was secure. He looked one last time at the flickering light of the burner before heading towards the door. He knew that getting to the outskirts of town, where Louie’s base was supposed to be, would be treacherous. The snow outside was deep, and every step would be a battle against the freezing temperatures.
