Hi, everyone. For those of you who live in the US, election season is coming up. If you have a moment, I’d like to tell a quick story about my brilliant best friend, who is the most incredible, brave, and strong person I know. Because of the legislation passed by a certain former president I’m sure I don’t have to name, he might never be able to achieve his dream of joining the military, or have access to gender-affirming care, or even possibly find discrimination-free employment. I know I haven’t exactly been active on this site, but this might be my best chance to get his message out. He, along with many others, have stories, small and large, that need to be told: from the student who was beaten to death for being non-binary, who never was able to reach justice in the social system, to those who will be discriminated against in a thousand different ways by the laws Trump has set up and the laws he might continue to push if he becomes re-elected. Imagine Nico di Angelo and Will Solace having to deal with this. They don’t deserve that, and none of us do either. For those of you who have read my unfortunately deleted series, this would include Bee Romanoff. This would include me. I may not be able to get on TV and make an epic speech. I may not be able to single-handedly turn the tide of the election. But I have a platform here, with all of you. This is a community of writers. So if you have a story to tell, tell it. Together, we might make the slightest difference. And maybe that could be enough.
