Let me tell you a story, this story does not have a happy ending. This is the story of the Tuath Dé Macha. The story goes like this; many years ago in the world of Táobhréimse (Celtic underworld) a fearsome and evil spirit named Neil (Níall) started a terrible war with the Tuatha Dé Dannan, bringing disease, and death for hundreds of years. Finally one day the Tuatha Dé Dannan told Neil they’d had enough and Neil clever as he was wicked agreed and he gave the Tuatha four choices each choice was was worse than the last. The first choice was that each of the Tuatha had to sacrifice the one they loved the most, the second choice was one of the Morrigan (fate/death goddesses) were to bare Neil three children all of whom would one day bring destruction to Táobhréimse when they came of age, the third choice was each Tuatha had to choose a city for Neil to destroy but no Tuatha could pick the same one, the fourth choice the very worst was the Tuatha had to guess which one of the three names were Neil’s real name, if they guessed wrong he would call upon death so that it could decide who should live and who should die but if they guessed correctly then Neil would die. Macha one of the Morrigan agreed to bare Neil his three children. The first child was strong true and wise beyond her years she was named Séanna, the second child was brave rebellious and born with a fiery temper; his name was Aodhan, the last child was like blood wicked and dark and he was named Dubhain. Séanna learned her father’s [death] name and was banished, Aodhan fought against his bastard father after he was instructed to destroy the city Finnías so he was banished as well, and Dubhain left Táobhréimse to kill his siblings.
