@ushiwaka4 I'm on my phone and I've had SJW meltdowns to my irls about both of these movies so I can't type what I fully think but just know I think you're spitting... I guess white feminist movies appeal to white women uncritically though and that's all imma say

@gravehop long rant warning because i am so normal about movies. but like not even gonna lie the public reaction to barbie made me realize just how misunderstood & ignored actual feminism is in modern times. like this was the women empowering masterpiece people praised it to be? making barbie (the toy) seem like it was revolutionary for girls at the time and not a huge corporate scheme to brand themselves as such while simultaneously abusing their real life women workers in the making of the toys is so weird & just another way the directors kept on inserting capitalism in their so-called "feminist" movie. don't get me started on the criticizing of men & patriarchy in the movie Except for the guys at Mattel 'cause they're just lovable dumb himbos who don't know what they're doing despite running a multimillion empire. really gross stuff. just a weird movie who shouldn't have received the praise it got; especially not for that long tirade about women's hardships which had basically no deserved buildup and was a copy paste of smth you'd find in a Corporate Liberal Feminism 101 course. tl;dr i hate barbie sooo much! Greta Gerwig extorsion will be my middle name when i catch u.
