Question. What length for a chapter is generally deemed suitable and engaging by readers before losing interest?

MarCafeWrites

@tvrgaryen- In my experience, and with a good amount of feedback, I say it's advisable not to go over 3500 words. ;)

Need some prayers right now. I usually don’t talk about myself or personal matters but I just got the news that my dads kidneys are failing and every thought/prayer helps ❤️

The more research I do for my story the more I realize that Peaky Blinders did not show The Economic League as they should have and now I wish they would have delved deeper into that organization because wow!!

But that’s also what fanfiction is for! ☺️

I think Season 3 Tommy is my favorite Tommy

MarCafeWrites

@thepeakylady Oooh, love your answer! I definitely understand what you mean. I hope I do him justice in my story, because I love dark, flawed, complex characters like him.

Lol, it's shitty to say, but Grace was so boring that I thought her death was the best way she could contribute to the show. And look at that: Tommy got even more interesting as a result!

@dixondarlin Yessss! Tommy is great in all seasons. 3 and 4 are my favorites because I love how he deals with Grace’s death or tries to deal with it, and then the whole Luca storyline is great.

@MarCafeWrites His character shifts after losing Grace. We get to see a side of him we didn’t get to see in S1-S2. He’s darker and makes decisions based off his emotions. He makes me think of a loose cannon honestly and just feels more human to me. He’s dealing with trauma that’s different than post-war trauma because he lost his wife and then there’s that scare about losing his son. He makes different decisions that I feel like he wouldn’t normally make.
