@YouNeedJesus69 You say Edgar Rice Burroughs is the granddaddy of Fantasy and I might have to prove you wrong. If you Google who is the Father of Fantasy , JRR Tolkien, that's what you'll get in the results . But let's forget about Google. The John carter of the Mars and the Barsoom series were all categorised in the sci fi genre. And they were published in not some 15 -20 years before , for which you were saying that EDB INVENTED THE GENRE A HUNDRED YEARS AGO. Sorry if I'm ignorant but , EDBs name wasn't even any near in the Title of the Father of Fantasy genre.

                     "
: "I did read many of Edgar Rice Burroughs' earlier works, but I developed a dislike for his Tarzan even greater than my distaste for spiders. " --- JRR Tolkien
And when it comes to being the flag bearer of modern fantasy , Tolkien have influenced the modern fantasy literature such as Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and even C. S Lewis , and many more. It's a piece of classic literature which you might know , even sans the fantasy adventure factor

If you've read his works , you'll know that HE is the one that created the modern fantasy genre and not EDB

@YouNeedJesus69 LOL The granddaddy of fantasy is Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of Tarzan, who pretty much originated the genre a hundred years ago with John Carter of Mars, Carson of Venus, the inner-Earth world of Pellucidar, and a host of other alternate worlds that have influenced fantasy writers ever since. Tolkien came years later.
