The damp hallway smelled of carcass and nothing but blood. I was in the butchers quarters but refused to kill the suffering pig that lay in front of me on a blood spattered table. I walked out into the cool night air clutching my jacket sleeve with my fingers.the man was harsh and yelled until my ears rung. He went to his room to call another shifter for me. I snuck out so I would not have to suffer this anymore. I am a factionless now and I can't bare it. Tris, the hero that would defeat erudite did not live up to her expectations and failed her faction, her family, and most of all tobias. The shifters were a new group of people that gave the factionless jobs so they could at least be useful. If the job wasn't for them or they failed protocol then they had to go to the next shifter. That's how they got there name because the factionless are usually not good at anything and they will have to shift to their next shifter a lot. I will have to hide like this from the erudite for the rest of my life just because I am divergent. I race down the street. Im mot really sure where im going but I want to run as far as I can from this place. I had been in candor headquarters for about a year now and I need to move on. Candor. Christina. I wonder where she is? If she is still alive. I run through a tall grass field. As I approach the railroad tracks that separate the Candor compound and the dauntless
Compound I look back and see all the tall buildings. A majority of them are black and very few are white. I snap out of my trance and focus on the roaring sound of the train coming my way. As the train is passing by i swing myself in and grab onto the rusty handle. I collapse and try to catch my breath. I look up as a dark figure approaches me. Tobias. "Tris."he says examining my face.
