I have never, not once, approached this community with the idea of telling people what they should or shouldn’t write, or telling artists what they should or shouldn’t draw. All art is built on being a creative, self-expressive outlet.
However, when your specific choice of self-expression comes at the expense of a minority, a line must be drawn. We’ve reached a point where a particular group is asking for less attention to be drawn to a fictional universe because of the harm the creator has caused them.
This isn’t about comparing one fictional world to another, as that would be a waste of breath for everyone. It’s about respecting the wishes of people harmed by a hateful woman.
You can be upset by my stance on that, whatever, fine. But that is where I stand on the issue.
If you have managed to boycott films and restaurants for Palestine or speak out for Sudan or the Congo or against the war or be a part of the No King’s protests, I’m sure you could manage to not publish a simple fanfic or post fan art at the request of the transgender community.

@velaryqns I'm NOT against this issue - I have a lot of LGBTQ+ friends that absolutely find joy in the Harry Potter world and really just ignore the media - not that I need to explain that to some I have never met nor do I plan to. If you don't wish to waste your breath, don't make a post and don't expect everyone to start clapping and agreeing with you. You're gonna spend your entire life running into people with views that do not match up to yours. I do not follow JK or care what she thinks - personally I don't really care for Harry Potter any more. I just think people like you with this mindset need to let that issue go and worry about other things - "canceling" JK isn't gonna fix the issues the LGBTQ community face. I agree this isn't the larger issues - there are worst things happening in the world right now then what fucking JKR thinks about rather or not a guy wants to be a girl. But JKR has also created an organization dedicated to offering legal funding for cases concerning women's sex-based rights. Personally, her fighting for women means she's doing some good. Women have been fighting for rights a lot longer than the Trans community has. But I really hope this post here gets rid of the Harry Potter fandom - job well done.
