It’s the best book to show adaptation I’ve seen. For the show they added a new storyline for the crows that takes place alongside the events of shadow and bone (pre six of crows). Leigh Bardugo described it as fanfiction of the original book. The main plot is pretty much the same as the book but adds in the Crows, so some details are different, but in a way that enhances the story. I highly recommend!
