@nancy32899 yeah exactly like I don't get how saying Delena is problematic too change anything of their favorite ship issues + while yes Damon was a villain in season 1 and an ass through the series outside raping Caroline, killing Lexi on cold blood everything he did was normal for a Vampire (aka the compulsion and feeding), was for revenge (aka the whole retaliation plan on the Augustine society) or was an after effect of being a Vampire (aka his impulsive actions influenced by his feelings or his existential crisis induced killing spree) + lots of the fandom have a biased opinion of Damon either cuz of what he did to Caroline and Lexi or because they got blinded by the narative of Stefan being the better brother but they forget how he wasn't already a serial killer or abuser since he turned, he only started abusing his vamp powers for his own pleasure after meeting sage and only started to become a serial killer after he turned off his emotions to escape his captivity and take revenge on his captors. Klaus on the other hand had done way worse than that to people that defied or faulted him, like I love Klaus but if we look at the fact Klaus really is worse as he enjoy making his enemies/opponents suffer + most of his actions are calculated while Damon is mostly impulsive.

@nancy32899 yeah the TVD fandom as a whole is draining lately between the Mikaelsons haters, Klaus apologist when it comes to defend Klaroline, the Elena haters or even the whole Steroline vs Klaroline debate were the fans use non official statement from Paul to try to prove Steroline was forced when both Julie and Candice officialy stated Steroline was planned since season 2 it's so exausting like why are they still trying so hard after a decade since the final episode aired to rewrite the show's narative to fit their headcanon ? Like okay you ship them it didn't happen either move on or use fanfictions to satisfy your headcanon like I'm a hardcore Drarry shipper but I don't go on the films shorts in YouTube to try to prove Drarry should have been endgame I content myself with fanfictions why can't they do the same.

            Ugh, I feel you so much on both of these points!
            First of all, the Elena "emotional cheater" discourse is so incredibly tired. You literally brought out the actual dictionary definition of emotional cheating with a link, and they still ignored it? People love to completely rewrite canon just to fit their ship wars. Like you said, Elena was never secretive about her shifting feelings for Damon she was actively struggling with them and trying to figure them out, which is just standard love triangle drama, not a malicious affair. Fans really do project their own personal relationship trauma onto the characters.
            And don't even get me started on the Marcel apologists on Wattpad. Acting like he’s just a helpless victim who did nothing wrong is wild. The Mikaelsons are definitely toxic, but Marcel made his own choices, ran New Orleans with an iron fist, and did plenty of messed-up things. He’s not an innocent bystander!
            Honestly, TVDU fans in general are just draining lately because I’m also so fed up with the non-stop Klamille and Klaroline debates everywhere. Both sides try way too hard to prove their ship was some kind of flawless, "epic" love story. I’m especially sick of Klamille fans using that ridiculous excuse that it "makes sense" for a 1,000-year-old hybrid to fall for a human therapist just because "he needed someone to understand him in the modern world.
            
            People just twist the entire lore of the show to justify their favorite ships and characters and it’s exhausting. You completely cleared them on those threads though!
