I'd have to rant, I apologize in advance for this.
Sobre "Romper el círculo" (It ends with us); If you were to ask me what I thought about the movie itself, I would say it was good. It was. I loved seeing the imagination come to life but if you were to ask me on a deeper level...
I'd say I wish here was more of the important scenes. As a redear, I would've loved to get the "Where did you get that magnet, Lily" and the picture he(Ryle) took then turned into a painting. The "please have s*x with me, Lily" and the letters/journal entries she would write to Ellen. And, specially, the "you can't stop swimming, Lily. We finally reached the shore." Even Atlas friends met Lily.
I would sincerely say they've missed out on some good ESSENTIALS scenes for the story building.
I also would've said the iconic, very much emotional part when Atlas tells Lily the "if by some miracle you ever find yourself in the position to fall in love again... fall in love with me" lacked the emotion needed for it in the film.
It's just... as a reader, the overwhelming urge to say "in the books it was different" every second while watching the movie was just not was I was expecting.
"Where did you get this magnet, Lily?"
"...Keep on swimming, Lily."
"I wanna be you when I grow up."
Emmy Dory, Ellen, the journals, the moments...
Missed opportunities all around.
That's it. Have a good night and, si leyeron hasta el final, hablenme. <3
