@Liana_Grace Usually, a good book is one where characters have a backstory and a greater goal than just being together OR if the goal of the whole plot is for them to be together, they usually have to face hard challenges (for eg maybe with mafia? from what i've seen that genre is mainly about forbidden love or the enemies-to-lovers trope, but they always face challenges like her being kidnapped or him betraying her etc haha) And I'd say to always try to imagine what is happening and describe everything (the room, the light, her eyes, his face etcetc). There are also lots of vids on youtube so I encourage them to check them out!! I always guide myself after them, there are a lot of editors that talk about mistakes authors make and stuff + I'd recommend reading tons of books from the genre you are wrting about, new ideas will come and you will be able to think critically about other authors' work but also yours Also, I'm a beginner as well but I just told you how I see things! :) hope this helpedd

@Liana_Grace okie I'm back! So first, I'd say just keep going. I have been writing inconsistently since I was in the 8th grade and only recently started taking it more seriously as it is a passion of mine, but if I had taken it seriously from the start (meaning having a writing schedule and being dedicated to maintaining it/not giving up) now it would've been easier. So just write. Make sure you love the story, this is very important as it keeps you going. I have a lot of ideas in my drafts, but I don't like any of them as much as Offline, for example. To me, writing a book is like reading one, but you create it. And with Offline that helped me. You can also choose an easy plot (like I did). As long as you love it, you will see that the ideas will flow! Even if it's a typical plot, a good book is good because of how the author writes it. If the author is truly invested, any story is unique. Also, it gets easier if your main characters have a goal. What I did/tried to do with Offline was to make clear what the characters' personality traits are, how they were challenged, and then how they grow from their challenges. And what types of challenges they deserve as people and based on their story (for eg Lena had to choose between law+parents expectations vs. finance+her own path)
