She pulls back just enough to glance up at his profile, analyzing him for a moment.]⠀I did. I  / do /.⠀[She admits, albeit a bit firmer than intended─almost like she's trying to convince herself instead of him.]⠀I just know it's going to be an uphill battle to keep my hands off you all night. Figured we could skip the foreplay, you know?

            Tic's eyes flutter shut, letting out a breathless sigh at the kiss. He almost gives in then (he loves seeing his girl happy), but he really, really has been looking forward to this party, a shocking feat for one Atticus Tozier. He turns his head to the side, cutting her off from kissing his jaw again. "Why do you wanna stay back anyway?" he questions. "I thought you (wanted) to go." 

@viewvillages⠀⠀&&.⠀⠀[Gwen knows him like the back of her hand─every tremor, every tell, exactly where to touch to make him melt. And the way his hands curl around her own tells her everything she needs to know: she's wearing him down─slowly but surely. And, though he won't admit it (he's far too stubborn), she can't help but feel a surge of pride at the thought.]⠀Sounds to me like you need a little more convincing.⠀[She muses, nose brushing his jaw, where she then plants a soft kiss.]

            He's so exhuasted of stepping on eggshells, of thinking every interaction out before even saying 'hello' in public for fear of slipping up. He aches to just be able to love her openly, but he can't, so he'll suffer in silence. Tic gently drapes an arm over her shoulder. "I do too." He places a gentle kiss atop her head. 

iD. @viewvillages,⠀[Deep down, Gwen knows how he feels, and maybe that's why this hurts so much. She hates it─only being able to love him in private and being forced to keep her distance in public to save face and avoid humiliation from her peers. But she'd rather love him in secret than not at all.]⠀It's okay. It's not your fault.⠀[She admits quietly before resting her head on his shoulder, eyes closed. She's so tired of this, but she loves him too much to put an end to it.]⠀I just wish things could be different.

            All Tic knows is that he loves Gwen. He loves he so deeply that it hurts him to care this much, to hide it from the world. But he can't do anything about it. He can't safely say he loves her, can't safely hold her hand in public. Hell, it'd be a risk to tell his own family. "I know, and I'm sorry." That's all he can bring himself to say because he's not good at this, he's not good at exposing his emotions in a vulnerable way without being too much. But he knows because he feels it too, and he hopes she knows that.

✧  @viewvillages,⠀I'm obviously not defending him, but I feel like there's two ends of the spectrum when you're a cop. And he's definitely not at the good end.
