Okay. The easiest thing for you to do is to apologize and give credit from your source, say that is was inspiration to the story. But don't plain out take the idea. I'm sure your intentions weren't supposed to be bad, but just remember that if this were taken into a very serious place like a college, you would get into a huge amount of trouble. So please just remember to ask for permission and give credit to the sources next time please <3
