i’m so glad lando has more fans now and people are finally acknowledging how talented he is, but the switch up’s been insane to watch after witnessing all of the insanity and unnecessary hate he’s had to deal with, literally, for years 😭

@voidvaleska EXACTLY like, it’s crazy! there’s nothing wrong with not liking a driver (NOT HATING HIM THOUGH) but the switch up as soon as he wasn’t winning every race was crazy

@-theblondediaries @draftsofmats @hitsdifferent_ like it’s great that people are finally recognising and praising him a lot more now (justifiably so), but it’s crazy how fast people switch up when it’s not their fave being threatened. they hated max when he was winning too, he was public enemy no.1, then last year he was suddenly the underdog??? (i’m not comparing the two because the hate lando gets is blown wayyy more out of proportion and is significantly more concerning than the hate that max gets), but, unfortunately, that’s how sports fans, in particular, work. also it’s wild that the hate and threats that lando got were so viscerally targeted and horrific, and now we’re seeing some of those same people claim to be ‘fans’, like okayyyy sure
