Hi guys! I know that I've been silent for a while now. I even considered abandoning my fanfic, The Outsider, but I feel like I owe you guys an explanation.
I am struggling to write The Outsider because tbh, I feel like I’m slowly losing my interest in it. My writing style has changed, and at first I thought editing it would help me regain my interest since then it’d fit my new style more, but I just don’t have the energy or the time to edit every single chapter. I actually don’t have much time to focus on writing anymore, which makes me want to focus more on the things I actually do want to write, which sadly does not include The Outsider. So I’ve decided to let you guys choose. The fate of this fanfic basically depends on you all, because if I do continue, it’ll be just because you guys want it. So, here, your options are:
1, I leave the fanfic unfinished, but tell you guys the plot twists. That way, you could imagine the scenes playing out in your mind even though you won’t be able to read it.
2, I somehow finish the fanfic, but only write whenever I have the motivation to. I am warning you, this may take literal years.
3, I find a different ending for the fanfic and finish it early, which sounds good but it would definitely be rushed. And most of the plot I had planned would go down the drain. For example, you’d have to forget about “the stranger” and the sister, “[Name]” because if I do create a different ending then they’d have no plot relevance.
4, I rewrite the fanfic. This may take even longer than the “I somehow finish the fanfic” option because like I’ve said before, I don’t have as much time to focus on writing anymore. But at least it’d be better than what you currently have…
The choice is yours.
@vshiraa anything else but the first choice but ofc you don't need to force yourself if your struggling, but if you're still willing to write, then we as readers can only wait patiently, but please mind your own health too if you really can't take it anymore, we can always understand:)
@vshiraa Honestly? I don't really think I've seen enough of the sister/stranger parts of the plot to care about them. I personally wouldn't mind if you cut them entirely because I haven't latched onto them. So, I guess my vote is conditional. What I really want most is a good story. I don't care if you take a while, or cut anything unnecessary, or change the ending. I just want it to be good, and for it to be somewhat fun to write. Remember that it won't last forever, remember to stay safe, and remember the little things you love. Bye
