And I don’t even know if I’ve reached the part where the FMC finally stands up for herself, but from what I’ve read,her character is SO submissive. People literally make fun of her and treat her horribly. (I genuinely LOVEEEED her character so much and she don't deserve this type of treatment at all really)

          	I genuinely believe that if we can openly love, praise and appreciate someone’s work then we should also be able to QUESTION it when something feels wrong and openly express our disappointment. Criticism doesn’t mean you hate the author it means you’re capable of looking at the work critically instead of blindly following the hype.
          	
          	And I truly STAND BY BOTH. You can love her work AND acknowledge when something doesn’t sit right with you.

Runaway by Bazookah disappointed me SO much. I had REALLY HIGH EXPECTATIONS from this story but it just didn’t live up to them at all.
          
          There are some very serious topics in this book and honestly the way people are blindly reading and loving ANYTHING just because it’s labelled “dark romance” is very concerning to me and the fact that around 90% of her audience is women with almost 46.5M reads on this story and people were literally DROOLING over that sick-ass man makes me genuinely uncomfortable.
          
          I don’t understand how choking, rape, controlling behaviour and extreme domination have become so NORMALISED in romance. Reading this book genuinely made my day WORSE every time I tried to pick it up. I still haven’t finished it I eventually dropped it.
          
          Bro the MMC is such a jerk that I genuinely cannot describe how uncomfortable his actions made me. Yes it’s fiction but at the end of the day it was still written by human being and the way these behaviours are portrayed and romanticised matters.
          
          Like YOU can kiss and make out with another girl and that’s apparently completely normal but when the FMC does the same thing suddenly it’s “I’M JEALOUS”, “YOU’RE ONLY MINE.” BHAI 😭 we’re in 2026 can we PLEASE move past these childish possessive lines and this same recycled storyline?
