✎ In 1916, an Irish man was sentenced to death because of a comma. The story is far more complicated than that, of course; but, according to many, it remains the topmost mess-up in the history of language. However, if you had asked me in August 1991, the biggest linguistic screw-up ever happened the moment Molly Weasley said there were some “important” news to share.

✎ Summers at the Burrow are challenging to describe to someone who has never been there, mainly because not two answers are the same. However, I believe “unique” is quite a good way to put it. Whether the connotation of that depiction is good or bad depends on who you ask.
