Set in the bustling Downtown Los Angeles, Valerie Vasquez navigates the extravagant lifestyle of the Fashion Industry, something she's strived for ever since she was a little girl. Accompanied by her childhood best friend, Elena Espinosa, she feels that she can do just about anything. Attending a prestigious fashion school, night time clubbing, nice dinners, runway shows, and her lavish social life only scratched the surface of Valerie's world. 
          
          Recovering from addiction and mental illness wasn't easy, Elena made that possible. After their fall out, the two wanted nothing to do with the other. For the longest time, they avoided each other like they avoided cheap polyester. Like it'd kill them if they so much as made eye contact. That changed when Valerie's life began to go into a downwards spiral, being exposed to substance abuse, crime, and so forth as early as her teenage years. Watching as Valerie's condition-- both mental and physical-- worsened, Elena finally reached out her hand and offered her aid. Though it was a brutal process, Valerie was ultimately able to find solace in the end.
          
          Present day, aged twenty-one, the girls attend their dream school and pursue their lifelong goals. Valerie swore long ago that she would push away her feelings for Elena, for the sake of their friendship. Now challenged with the struggles of adulthood, new opponents, and the impression that Elena is being torn away from her, Valerie struggles to find control in the chaos that envelops her life.
          
          Overwhelmed and shaken, Valerie can only find comfort in an old friend.
