why the hell do people write about disorders without doing research? they just take a stereotype of the disorder and write it that way without looking up the actual symptoms. it kills me how terribly people with disorders are represented. pisses me off tbh.

@ people who write aus where the boys have a disorder/disability ; do your research. don't just wiki it, ask a friend if they have it, look for real people with these disorders/disabilities to ask what their life is like. don't just decide in the middle of the fic that your main character is going to have a disorder and they've somehow 'had it their whole life' when they've never shown any signs of having it before in the book. stop romanticizing/fetishizing disorders and disabilities. respect people with disorders/disabilities. that is all.
