Since young, Wan Saechier, had a vivid imagination for creating immersive worlds and characters that allowed her to escape from her strict academic parents. 

Her childhood spanned many Asian countries, her memories filled with blissful freedom in the lush jungles and drowning in the claustrophobic concrete cities. With the China takeover of British-ruled Hong Kong looming, her family eventually settled in Australia on the outskirts of Melbourne. 

Traveling with her family to make a living did not diminish her desire to see the world. She was always eager to learn about cultures, especially the undertones and what makes them unique. Like her mother, she also became proficient in many languages.

During the COVID years, you can imagine, she was distraught like so many of us when she could not travel. This was when, self-taught, Wan ventured into the world of solitary writing. This gave her solace and the strength to carry on in the chaos that surrounded us all.

The stories that floated in her head are often of love and of women and men who come to understand themselves through interactions and relationships with others. 

Wan genuinely believes that people come in and out of our lives for a reason and that people are destined to be together in each lifetime, however brief. 

Simply Love, was her first completed novel which took three years to write. This was her way to dream about Asia, write about multiculturism and write in her favourite genre, romance.

When not writing, Wan, enjoys living life with her small close-knit friends and family, daydreaming stories, discovering delicious recipes and restaurants, watching documentaries, and of course, travel.
