@PancakeOverlorde My biggest piece of advice is to write about something that you are passionate about/ interested in because then it will be soooo much easier to come up with ideas! For example, for my story, the guide to manipulation, i had recently read American Psycho by ellis and i was interested in his character patrick bateman, which is where i got the inspiration for the book! Even if you just look at your favorite novels, you will probably get a better idea at the type of things you are interested it writing about! I'm really not the best person to give advice on story planning haha but what i do is i create an extremely rough plan (i honestly just have like five sentences that kind of describe where i want the story to go) and then i just add to the plan/change the plan as i write and develop the story further! In my opinion, its fine to only have the beginning of the story planned (even if its just the first chapter or paragraph) because you will likely come up with ideas as you write. I think the best way to develop/describe characters is to answer character development questions (just google "questions for character development" there are thousands) for all of the main characters! I honestly find it way easier to come up with a character and then build a plot around that character, so maybe that will work for you? I hope that all made sense haha, good luck on your story <3
