Well you shouldn't be scared because it's all about putting yourself out there. When I first started, I looked for people who were willing to take reading requests and asked them to read my story. I'm pretty sure I spammed a lot of people the first month on here xD but the best you can do is look for profiles who like what you like and what your story is based on :)
