I just want to read a good book with POC main characters. A well written book where the authors idea of personaility isnt just making every poc character a stereotype.

Hey water melon, I just want to say that I agree with you about how every author is literally writing the same thing but with different names and styles etc.. and it's rlly getting on my nerves. At first I used to be soooo addicted to wattpad but now that it's been at least 2 yrs, every book I hav read is getting copied basically.
ANOTHER THING I HATE are those " The billionaire and the _____ " Its the same plot EVERY SINGLE TIME. Poor girl is poor ( Family member is either dying or abusive ) Rich man meets poor girl. Rich man offers poor girl large amounts of money. Poor girl declines because ✨money no solve problems✨ (except money do solve problems because shes fucking POOR) anyways.. Rich man go " oMg nO woMEn eVer sAY No tO moNey I loVe hEr" he basically stalks her for a chapter or five and by chapter 10 shes living with him. By chapter 15 theyre having dinner with rich man parents who either hate or love Emily. ( Almost forgot the bitchy ex who causes drama for main couple and often ends up with a brother or a bestfriend. )
Hi sorry for the late reply and if you don't mind I'm just gonna go on a rant real quick you don't have to read if you don't want to.
I like to call myself a veteran when it comes to Wattpad and even though the stories back then weren't the BEST its a lot better than what I've read on here recently. It gets kind of exhausting when the protagonist are always Emily or Hazel with emerald green eyes and soft brown hair/Hunter or Alex with dark grey eyes and a motorcycle. Doesn't matter if she's a witch in one writers story and a mermaid in the next, its still the same character with the same story. There are some great gems on here though and its sad that they are getting such little attention while trash like AFTER got two movies. Give it a couple months and some other story probably called " The Badboy and the short nerdy shy quirky girl " get a Netflix adaptation too
Hey, I saw your comment about you trying to find good books and I reccomend you "Yours truly", it's a really grearmt book. I have many suggestions but I don't remember them so you can just check my reading lists
