After what felt like an eternity, the man spoke up. "You!" He seemed to shout in a hoarse and and raspy tone. "Your gifts will become curses, and everything you know about the world will shatter. And you will be left broken and alone. Something is coming for you. It is evil, it is hunger. It is death." The man lowered his hand, and his joints seemed to crack and pop in protest of his every movement. As quickly as he came in, he turned and left. The door slammed behind him, and the entire building remained in dumbfounded silence.
"And you always said I couldn't make friends." Oliver quipped, but his voice betrayed his demeanor, and it was clear he was shaken.
