The latest issue of Tevun Krus is up. This month, featured is Ethnographic Sci-Fi, which focuses on society interactions, one of my favorite subgenres. Readers are invited!

I wanted to stop by and say thank you for reading my ONC, for the likes and the convos in the comments and thank you for highlighting the book on your message board. I appreciate you for that and thank you again!

@WendyyWolfe My pleasure! ONC rankings aside, I enjoyed reading Wardens, especially the deep morality theme.

@wdhenning Thank you! I enjoyed your ONC for the historical backdrop and the fantasy that was woven throughout, like who hasn't dreamed of finding a beautiful girl that just fell from the heavens? And as I read it I kept singing pennies from heaven in my mind. It is a fantastic story!

Random deep thought:
There is lots of AI slop posted on the internet. But AI’s are trained from the internet. So then, will the feedback loop eventually slop AI’s into irrelevance?

@Glory_feeling2 I think the hoopla will be around for awhile, at least until we collectively define the proper application for AI. We still have an old VHS player for all the family vids we took so long ago.

The Flabbergasting Flashfic Smackdown has begun, but there is still plenty of time to get in. I’ve participated in several of these Smackdown contests put on by @LayethTheSmackDown, and they are a lot of fun. So, if you write speculative fiction (or wouldn’t mind a try), give this a consideration. https://www.wattpad.com/story/412353130-the-flabbergasting-flash-fic-smackdown

I recently read an immersive historical adventure/romance titled Commander Ptahhotep, by @LetVGarcia that I think deserves more attention. The detailed ancient Egyptian setting, the depth of the characters, protagonists that I cared about, and the high stakes palace intrigue kept me absorbed in the story. I would recommend checking it out. https://www.wattpad.com/story/408294592-commander-ptahhotep

While the judges deliberate, I would like to feature another well crafted ONC story I thoroughly enjoyed: Black Thicket by @ShaunAllan. Never has a dark forest seemed so hauntingly ominous. The tension starts early and continuously builds to the end, the beast unnamed and intangible. https://www.wattpad.com/story/407538596-black-thickett-onc-2026

I have edited and republished an old short story, now titled The Friends of Stori. Some may recall the previous work: a contest piece titled Fantastical Tales. It is written in an experimental episode style.

@Glory_feeling2 Exactly. On a sight like Wattpad, stories may evolve. My writing style has improved dramatically over the years, and some of my older stories made me cringe a bit, so several have I re-edited. And several of my novels started out as short stories.

@wdhenning That's cool to know! Like you and I assume some other WP writers, I always go back to my old short stories and revise it or continue the narrative. That's what I'm doing for my first hilarious vampire monster news story ... although it might not come out as funny as I planned, but we'll see. I'll put your story in my library!
