I wasn't blaming you or accusing you of copying anyone. I was literally just saying that your idea reminded me of a plot my friend Esha once suggested to me. That's it. Two writers can have similar ideas and still end up writing completely different stories.
Trust me, it happens all the time.
And please don't apologize for your writing
Do you know how much I cringe at my own old work?
I'm currently re-writing Mistress, and OH MY GOD, sometimes I read a paragraph and wonder what kind of fever dream possessed me while writing it
There are moments where I just stare at the screen and question every decision my younger self ever made.
You're talking to the same person who has deleted 26 stories before
TWENTY-SIX.
Not one.
Not five.
TWENTY-SIX.
At this point, my readers probably have trust issues because of me
Every writer has a phase where they look back at their old work and think, "What was I doing?"
That's normal.
It's actually a sign that you've improved.
If your old writing doesn't make you cringe at least a little, are you even growing as a writer?
And honestly, English isn't even my first language. When I started, my grammar was questionable, my sentence structure was fighting for its life, and people weren't shy about pointing it out.
But I kept writing.
That's the secret.
Not talent.
Not perfection.
Just writing again and again until you get better.
So don't worry so much about being "good enough." Every writer starts somewhere, and every story teaches you something new.
Now stop stressing before I throw a virtual pillow at you
Keep writing, keep improving, and most importantly, enjoy your story. That's what matters the most .
( My lecture became so long that Wattpad basically looked at me and said,
"Girl, I'm NOT sending all that in a reply. Go post it on your community board instead."
So yes, it's still ME replying! Wattpad just gave up halfway through my essay and forced me to send it here instead )
